Diagnosis of Boxer JKD

If your boxer has any of the symptoms of Boxer JKD, or if there has been a sibling or another close relative that has been diagnosed with Boxer JKD, you should see your veterinarian immediately.
The veterinarian's diagnostic work up will consist of urinalysis, blood-work and preferably diagnostic imaging to see how the kidneys look in shape, size and structure. The diagnosis of Boxer JKD is based on a number of different diagnostic tests, as well as a thorough medical history, that rules out all other possible diseases that can in some cases mimic the symptoms of Boxer JKD. Which diseases mimic Boxer JKD will vary, and will depend on where in the world you and your dog live. |
