Pedigrees of Confirmed UK Cases

Introduction

Except for cases 109 – 118, which were derived from a veterinary study on a cohort of dogs from over 10 years ago, the pedigrees shown have been provided by Boxer owners and breeders.  All had standard veterinary diagnoses.

Parents of UK cases are shown in blue, indicating that they have produced affected pups.
Colour-marking of these dogs when present as ancestors in other pedigrees, merely indicates they are a producer.
It does not imply that these dogs are necessarily responsible for the pattern of inheritance in these other pedigrees.

No attempt is made at this stage to interpret the pedigrees and identify sources of the JKD mutation.

Coefficients of inbreeding (COI) were obtained where possible using the MyKC website, but were otherwise estimated from the 5-generation pedigrees available.  These levels therefore do not include the historical inbreeding that is included in KC values and are underestimates.
