Research Proposals

There are several very exciting research proposals in the pipeline
Our group has discussed various ideas with a nephrologist at a leading UK vet school
These projects will lead to the advancement of our knowledge and understanding of the disease. They may hasten the development of a suitable genetic test. These projects require the support of some interested breeders

RESEARCH PROPOSAL
There have been several attempts to find the gene for JKD. None have been successful. This may be due to any one of a number of genetic (DNA) difficulties, or to the lack of full understanding of the disease itself. Boxerjkd.com has attracted a top nephrologist to help with the latter.
The work will require fading puppies and post mortem kidneys from affected dogs.
This notice constitutes an appeal to Boxer owners and breeders for help with the collection of such material, all in absolute confidence.
If you are prepared to help, please contact us through the website
